The EU-funded HORIZON 2020 – MONNALISA project, concluded in 2023, has developed and validated a novel method to predict the non-linear aerodynamic properties of lifting surfaces with controls, leveraging a high-resolution database of relevant design parameters. A wind tunnel campaign on large scale aircraft tailplane models with different geometry was performed in the closed test section of GVPM including the use of force measurements, Infrared Thermography, PIV and surface flow visualizations.
