Hong Kong topographic model

To support the design of the new Expo Area in Hong Kong, a topographic study was conducted to define the site-specific wind conditions. The local climate is strongly influenced by Hong Kong’s distinctive geography, with open sea to the south and hilly, mountainous terrain to the north. The study established representative wind profiles and turbulence characteristics at the site. The results highlighted pronounced directional variability in wind field, which was incorporated into the subsequent wind tunnel testing phase, where scaled models of the Expo buildings were assessed under realistic boundary layer conditions.

  • Location: Hong Kong
