Aerodynamic drag measurement on a transmission line conductor
Aerodynamic drag value is a fundamental data in the transmission lines design. Drag coefficient is a function not only of the Reynolds number but depends also on the surface roughness and the wind turbulence level. Wind tunnel tests on a 4m long conductor prototype allows an accurate evaluation of the aerodynamic drag in a wide wind speed range up to 200km/h.
