Active aeroelastic aircraft structures
Experimental validation of active control systems to minimize the aeroelastic response of an unconventional aircraft. The X-DIA model designed and tested reproduces in 1/10 scale the architecture of a future regional aircraft with three surfaces configuration. Two different configurations have been investigated with forward and backward swept angle canard surface. The model is suspended in a free-free configuration and the vibration control is obtained using the canard and aileron control surfaces.
